48V Phantom Power should NEVER be applied to any Line or Instrument level outputs and can damage both the Focusrite and other units. XLR connections and Phantom Power are ONLY for use with a Microphone. Always check that your Microphone is safe for use with Phantom Power before applying as some Ribbon Mics can also be damaged by Phantom Power.
Jul 5, 2017 路 The power supply simply adjusts itself to the needs. I do suggest you get a separate phantom power unit. The mics will likely run better with a separate higher voltage and you wont be taxing the USB buss. Bad things can occur when you push things past they're limits as you apparently are. A dual channel phantom supply can be bought for around $35.

I can confirm that no program is taking control of the mic, the settings in-game have the interface selected, my interface is selected as the default audio device on my computer, Lethal Company has permission to use my audio inputs and is using them while I have the game running.

Turning off the Phantom Power (48V) when disconnecting will ensure that the unit nor microphone are possibly damaged when you reconnect the microphone.
